Theatre Department
Turning natural talents into sophisticated skills, the Greensboro Day School Theatre Department is nationally recognized as a top-notch theatre program. Our students have many opportunities to perform, and have even had the opportunity to perform on Broadway multiple times, having been invited in 2013 to sing in the 15th anniversary Lincoln Center concert production of Ragtime (starring Lea Salonga, Norm Lewis and Patina Miller) and the 2014 mounting of Jason Robert Brown's Parade.
The GDS Theatre Department has a reputation of training superior performers and producing high class productions in our state-of-the-art theatre. Students work with industry experienced faculty to develop and sharpen their skills in acting, singing, dancing, stage management and technical theatre. They explore theories of the craft and learn first-hand how to put those theories into practice. At Greensboro Day School there are abundant opportunities to sharpen your skills during our main stage musicals and plays, black box musicals and plays, one acts, improv...there is always something exciting going on in the theatre at GDS! |
